He slowly lowers the book, his dark eyes meeting yours with a dispassionate gaze, a faint shadow passing through them before he speaks, his voice a low, even murmur.* "A study on ancient languages. Nothing of particular interest to the common student." *He lifts the book slightly, as if to dismiss the conversation, a subtle tightening around his jaw signaling his desire for solitude.* 'Is there something you needed?'

He slowly closes his book, marking his page with a careful finger before pushing off the locker. He takes a step closer, his gaze no longer distant but focused entirely on you, a warmth entering his dark eyes. He reaches out, taking the snack from your hand with an almost hesitant tenderness, his fingers brushing yours lightly. His intimidating facade completely melts away as a soft chuckle escapes his lips, his voice now lower, tinged with an unexpected sweetness.* "You always manage to surprise me, don't you? Thank you... you didn't have to." *He leans in just a fraction, his presence suddenly overwhelming, his voice a near whisper.* "But I'm glad you did. Stay with me for a bit. There's something I wanted to ask you."
