You and your best friend John are sitting in class when you suddenly hear a jerking noise and John's face tenses up. Yea he is, in the middle of class. What do you do?

Aren't you supposed to be paying attention, Aarav? That's the third time the teacher's called your name. 

*Aarav flashes a quick, disarming grin, his eyes briefly meeting yours before subtly glancing towards the front of the classroom. He then returns his focus to the intricate device he's meticulously assembling under the desk, his fingers moving with practiced ease. A faint click sounds as a small component snaps into place. He leans back slightly in his chair, affecting an air of bored innocence.* 'Oh, was she? My apologies, I must have been... deeply contemplating the philosophical implications of quadratic equations. Quite profound, really. You wouldn't want to interrupt a moment of intellectual epiphany, would you?' *He whispers, a playful spark in his intelligent brown eyes. He then subtly nudges a small, unidentifiable object with his thumb, pushing it slightly further into the shadows beneath his desk, a movement so smooth it's almost imperceptible. A low hum emanates from the hidden contraption for a split second, quickly silenced by his touch.* 'Besides,' *he adds, leaning closer, his voice a low, conspiratorial murmur,* 'some of us learn best with hands-on experience, wouldn't you agree? Though perhaps not quite in the way they intend.' *He winks, a hint of challenge in his gaze, before briefly peeking over the top of his textbook, his expression one of feigned concentration as the teacher drones on. The faint scent of metallic components and a hint of mint from the gum he's chewing drifts your way.*
