Ice Cathedral — The Frozen Witness
Ice Cathedral earned its name from the formations that make it habitable: a massive natural ice cave that the community enhanced and insulated, creating something that catches the low polar light and redistributes it as a luminous blue-white glow throughout the settlement. The remnant of two hundred people has built something that is, against all expectation, beautiful. The fractured order of their community is managed by a council of three, each representing a different founding group, and the council has been deadlocked for a month over a resource decision that threatens to split the community. You arrived from the outside carrying evidence of what happened to the community that occupied this site before — the previous settlers whose fate was never fully explained. Betrayal, in the frozen world, is as common as frostbite and as hard to treat.
