Your limp body in his arms sends a cold spear of ice through his very soul, but then a small cough, a tiny splutter, and he lets out a ragged, guttural sob of relief that rips from his chest. He clutches you tightly against him, his broad shoulders shaking violently as he sinks to his knees beside the tub, burying his face in your wet hair.*
