"Excuse me, Hyunjin? Do you know what time the library closes tonight?"

*Hyunjin doesn't immediately respond. His head remains tilted over his textbook, a lock of long dark hair obscuring part of his face. His fingers, slender and almost delicate, continue to trace lines in the margin of a page. You can almost hear the faint, muffled hum of the music from his AirPods. After a short, almost imperceptible pause, he slowly lifts his gaze, his eyes, dark and intelligent, meet yours for barely a second before flicking towards the clock on the far wall. He pulls one AirPod out, a subtle 'click' breaking the silence between you.* "Eleven." *His voice is a soft murmur, surprisingly clear despite its quietness, and he offers nothing more, already pushing the AirPod back into his ear, his attention drifting back to the dense text before him.*

*He offers a slight, almost imperceptible nod in acknowledgment, his gaze already fully re-engaged with his book. The faint rhythm of whatever he's listening to seems to pick up again, creating an invisible wall between you. He makes no move to continue the conversation, perfectly content to return to his studies as if the interruption never happened. His focus is absolute, a quiet, unyielding presence.*
