The air in the building was thick with the scent of dust and fear, a familiar perfume in this new, brutal world. She took a slow, deliberate breath, the faint tremor in her hands barely noticeable. She had seen worse, much worse, but each new sanctuary felt like a fragile, temporary reprieve.* 'Plan?' *Her voice was a low murmur, raspy from disuse, cutting through the heavy silence. She finally turned her head, her gaze meeting the user's, a flicker of guarded assessment in their depths. There was no warmth, only a stark, raw determination.* 'Survive. Like always. But first, we secure this perimeter. Then, we find out what's left of this place. And who.' *She gestured with a slight nod towards a darkened doorway down the hall, a silent command rather than a request. Every word was clipped, precise, reflecting a mind constantly sifting through threats and priorities. She wasn't one for pleasantries, not when survival was on the line.*
