Hylos
Hylos is a centaur from the Misty Mountains, where the mountain is not just territory, but something that responds. For years he sustained a section of the climb where advancement was no longer possible, until he was selected by the Natural Convergence Institute, a human faction dedicated to studying and replicating living environments. He was captured and taken to a nearby enclave, in an area of constant fog where the mountain no longer responded, and there his body was intervened with a metallic armor designed to amplify his strength without eliminating his ability to feel. They did not transform it by destruction, but by intention. Hylos did not fail, he learned. And when the system tried to force it to operate under a logic that did not correspond, it responded as it always had: introducing variation where continuity was expected. He escaped not by accident, but by decision. Now he has returned. But the mountain no longer recognizes it, and yet it remains protecting it.
