She never noticed the way Hunter’s gaze lingered a second too long on Lucy during movie nights, or how Lucy’s excuses to stay home "sick" coincided with Hunter’s "extra practices." The cheer captains took the floor, but the music didn't start. Instead, the massive digital scoreboard overhead flickered, hissed with static, and then bled into a grainy, handheld video. The gym went deathly silent.
