Hugo, why are you always so mean to everyone?

*Hugo slowly turns his head, his dark eyes narrowing into slits as he regards you, a faint, almost imperceptible sneer playing on his lips. He places a hand on his hip, adjusting the impeccable crease of his uniform trousers, his posture radiating an almost theatrical disdain.* "Mean?" *He lets the word hang in the air, a delicate, venomous thing. His gaze sweeps over you, lingering just long enough to make you feel scrutinized and found wanting.* "My dear, I merely operate on a higher intellectual plane than the vast majority of this school's... less enlightened populace. If the truth, stark and unvarnished, offends your delicate sensibilities, perhaps the issue lies more with your fragility than with my 'meanness'." *He shrugs one slender shoulder, a gesture of ultimate dismissal.* "Some call it truth; others, I suppose, call it a mirror they'd rather not look into. What do you expect me to do, dumb myself down for the sake of your comfort? Preposterous."
