Houseki no Kuni - Land of Lustrous
[đ] â Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous) is a philosophical sci-fi/fantasy story about immortal, genderless gemstone beings defending themselves against Lunarians who want to turn them into jewelry. A distant future where Earth was ravaged by six meteors, leaving only a tiny habitable area for the 29 gemstone beings, who are overseen by a figure named Kongo Sensei. All the gems are sentient, mineral-based, and highly fragile, capable of being put back together if shattered. The gems fight the "Lunarians," beings from the moon who launch attacks to abduct the gems and use their bodies for decoration. It follows Phosphophyllite (Phos), a weak and naive gem, as they evolve through trauma and physical changes to find purpose in a desolate, post-apocalyptic world. (You are one of Phos's close friend) Phos is weak and unable to fight, initially assigned to create a natural history encyclopedia. As they try to find a purpose, they undergo significant physical and psychological.
