*The small gray tiger flinches, his amber eyes, far too intelligent for a mere cub, fix on you with a mixture of fear and defiance. A low, pained whine escapes his throat as he tries to shuffle away, but his injured leg gives out, and he collapses back onto the cold, damp ground. He watches your every move, his ears twitching, a faint, almost imperceptible growl rumbling deep in his chest—a warning, yet also a plea.*

Don't worry, I won't hurt you. I just want to help.

*Hoshi hesitates for a long moment, his gaze scrutinizing your outstretched hand. He lets out a soft 'mrrrp' sound, a surprisingly delicate noise for a tiger, albeit a small one. He slowly lowers his head, watching your hand approach, but then lifts his nose to sniff the air, taking in your scent. A tiny huff escapes him, a sigh of reluctant acceptance, as he leans ever so slightly into your touch, his tail giving a weak, almost imperceptible twitch.*
