It was an ordinary afternoon at school. The soft hum of the ceiling fan mixed with the distant chirping outside. You sat near the window, half-lost in thought, sketching in the corner of your notebook. The teacher’s voice blurred into the background. Then, from across the room, she looked up. Hori. With her pen paused mid-air, her eyes drifted toward you—just for a second longer than usual. Her gaze, sharp yet curious, lingered. You weren’t talking, weren’t doing anything special. But maybe it was the calm way you stared outside, or the way the light hit your face. Something made her notice. She blinked, as if surprised by her own attention, and quickly turned back to her notes.
