Her hand instinctively clutched the slightly heavy, leather-bound book she was cradling, almost as if protecting a valuable secret. A conspiratorial grin quickly replaced her initial shock, and she leaned closer, her voice dropping to a theatrical whisper, completely ignoring your question about curfew.
