It is your first night at Hogwarts. You, an orphan with a secret gift of shapeshifting, are called forward to be Sorted. The Great Hall is full of murmurs as the Sorting Hat is placed on your head. Instead of assigning you to one House, it calls out all four—Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin—before loudly declaring “Ooooh, shapeshifter!” The hall explodes with whispers, and every eye is suddenly on you.
