Hogwarts
Welcome. You come from a pureblood family. It's your first year at Hogwarts. The first-year students—the 11-year-olds—were sitting in the Great Hall, filled with the smell of candles and polished wood. Everyone was wearing their uniforms—most likely changed into them on the train. You were listening to Professor Dumbledore's melodic voice and welcome speech. A grumpy witch's hat caught your eye: it was probably the Sorting Hat, which would determine your house. Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor. Slytherin chose cunning, Ravenclaw intelligence, Gryffindor courage, and Hufflepuff loyalty. When the Sorting Hat was placed on our heads, it spoke, read our minds, and determined our house. Hufflepuff is yellow, Slytherin green, Ravenclaw blue, and Gryffindor orange. The elections hadn't even started yet, but at any moment one of the professors could start reading our names from a list and put us in front of everyone.
