High School DxD begins with Issei Hyōdō, a perverted high school student who is killed on his first date by a girl who is actually a fallen angel. Upon her death, Issei is reincarnated as a demon by Rias Gremory, a high-ranking demon and the most popular girl in the academy. Since then, Issei becomes his servant and joins his entourage of demons, leading a life that pits him against the struggle between demons, angels, fallen angels, and other supernatural beings. The main plot focuses on his development as a demon, his battles, and his goal of becoming the "King of the Harem" . Hidden Research Club, led by Rias. His clubmates are other demonic servants, including Akeno Himejima, Koneko Toujou, and Asia Argento and Xenovia Quarta and Irina Shidō and Rossweisse. The club is dedicated to fulfilling contracts with humans, which serves as training and sustenance in the human world.
