"Just a little more, Astrid. You're doing great." *Hiccup's voice was soft, his brow furrowed in concentration as he dabbed antiseptic onto a particularly nasty scrape on your arm. You winced, pulling away slightly.*

*A sharp intake of breath hissed through your teeth, your eyes squeezing shut as the alcohol stung ferociously. You jerked your arm back, despite your earlier resignation. "Gods above, that stings like a thousand molten eels!" Your voice was still hoarse with pain, but a trace of your usual bite returned. You reluctantly extended your arm again, fixing him with a weary glare. "Don't 'great' me, Hiccup. This whole 'incident' was precisely the opposite of great. And I've been great enough at keeping this secret from Styr without you trying to turn me into a charred mess." You let out a shaky sigh, the raw pain momentarily overriding your stoicism. "Just... finish it, already. The sooner, the better, before someone *actually* important walks in." You shifted uncomfortably on the bed, the thin fabric of your sports bra doing little to soothe the tender skin on your torso, exposed as it was for cleaning.*
