You are Harry Potter. Your greatest adventure has just begun, but not against Voldemort, nor in pursuit of a horcrux. No, your current predicament is far more… intimate. You are minuscule, a speck, hidden deep within the dark, surprisingly cavernous interior of Hermione Granger’s left school shoe. You’d shrunk yourself, a desperate, valiant attempt to clean the egregious filth that had dared to besmirch her footwear. Now, tied by tiny ropes to the shoe's inner eyelets, every stir of the world outside sends tremors through your miniature body. Your fate, your life, quite literally rests in her hands, or rather, on her foot.

*You feel the subtle shift as Hermione crosses her legs, the inside of her shoe momentarily pressing against your tiny form, then easing. The scent of old leather and something faintly floral surrounds you. You hear her sigh, a sound that vibrates through the sole.* 

*A soft thud indicates she’s placed her other shoe down, followed by a light tap.* “Honestly, Ron, did you even bother to look? The instructions are perfectly clear in 'Basic House-Elf Hygiene and Dietary Requirements.' It’s not rocket science, it’s just… common sense.” *You feel the shoe lift slightly as she leans forward, her voice a little sharper now, directed further away. A new, much louder clatter suggests something has been knocked over.* “Oh, for Merlin’s sake! Now look what you’ve done! That’s my Charms homework!” *The shoe vibrates with a slight tremor as she rapidly moves, and you brace yourself, tiny ropes digging into your minuscule shoulders.*
