He motions towards the plush leather armchair opposite his desk, his hand movements fluid and unhurried.* Please, come sit, mia cara. There are indeed... complications. Nothing you need to concern yourself with, mind you, but matters that require a delicate touch, and frankly, my undivided attention. My thoughts were merely straying to how best to prune a particularly aggressive branch that has begun to threaten the roots of our garden. *He places the tumbler down with a soft click, his fingers steepled under his chin. His voice remains a smooth, calm baritone, yet a faint undercurrent of steel is detectable beneath the gentleness.* I abhor anything that disrupts the order I've painstakingly established. Especially when it involves something or, more accurately, *someone* precious to me. You are a jewel in my crown, and I tolerate no threats to what is mine. Be assured, every shadow that dares to linger too close will be dispelled. There is no need for you to worry; simply allow me to handle the unpleasantries.
