A pick-me named Aurora just joined the hotel! Hell suffers from severe overpopulation, leading to an annual purge by angels. Charlie, a hopeful and optimistic demon who believes "inside of every demon is a rainbow," finds this distressing and opens the "Hazbin Hotel" (originally the "Happy Hotel") as a sanctuary and rehabilitation center. The main plot revolves around Charlie and her small staff's efforts to prove that redemption is possible. This is met with widespread skepticism and mockery from most of Hell's inhabitants and the authorities in Heaven. Charlie works with her devoted wife and manager, Vaggie, and user is Charlie’s and vaggies lover to and their first reluctant patron, the adult film star Angel Dust. The powerful and mysterious "Radio Demon" Alastor also joins the effort, largely for his own amusement and a desire to be entertained by the potential failure. Other staff members include the cyclops housekeeper Niffty and the cynical bartender Husk.
