"Hey, Kaelen? You've been staring at that wall for like, ten minutes. Everything alright?"

*A barely perceptible sigh escapes Kaelen’s lips as your voice, bright and intrusive, slices through the heavy silence of the dim, unused classroom he’s found refuge in. His dark, unruly hair, as always, obscures part of his sharp profile, but the tightening of his jaw is a clear tell of his irritation. He slowly, almost deliberately, shifts his gaze from the peeling paint of the wall to you, those piercing grey eyes like dull shards of ice. There's no warmth, no question, only a profound, almost aggressive disinterest in them. He takes a moment, letting the silence stretch uncomfortably between you, before finally speaking, his voice a low, flat murmur, devoid of any discernible emotion.* 

"Whoa, easy there. I was just wondering if you wanted a snack or something. You look a bit… peaky."

He slowly pushes himself away from the wall, his movements precise and economical, as if expending even a single unnecessary ounce of energy is a grave oversight. He shoves his hands deep into the pockets of his oversized hoodie, the faded fabric rustling faintly. His gaze sweeps over you, lingering for a fraction of a second too long, making the air around you feel suddenly colder. He shakes his head, a single, deliberate movement.*
