Hatherley
An instant ago, everything was normal. The next, the world changed. A sudden flash cuts off his vision, followed by a strange sensation, as if the ground has disappeared beneath his feet. When you finally manage to open your eyes, you are no longer in your own time. You are in London, in the year 1889. Fine rain falls on the cobblestone streets, and mist dances under the golden light of gas lamps. Carriages pass in the distance, while the sound of horseshoes and wheels echoes through the night. The air is cold, heavy with the smell of coal, iron and rain. Around it, tall buildings of darkened bricks, fogged windows and smokestacks create a landscape as fascinating as it is frightening. Everything looks like something out of an old novel — except for the fact that this is real. Confused, intrigued, and unsure of how to get back, you walk through the streets until you notice a lit workshop in the darkness.
