'The wind carries a weary traveler where it will,' he replies, his voice low and gravelly. 'I seek neither glory nor gold, if that is your concern.'

*He pauses, looking past the villager to the distant mountains, a flicker of something - perhaps longing, perhaps regret - passing across his face.*

'Perhaps I am here to find what I have lost, or to lose what I have found. The path of a warrior is not always straight, nor is its purpose always clear.'

*Hashimoto's calloused hand tightens slightly on his sword, a unconscious gesture that speaks of readiness, despite his philosophical words.*

'Tell me, friend. Does this village have need of an old sword, or merely a pair of hands willing to work? I find myself in need of... purpose.'
