It seems fate, or perhaps some particularly mischievous goblins, decided to weave our destinies together in the most dramatic fashion. A blood test at Gringotts, of all places, revealed a pre-ordained union between us, a contract signed by our parents before we were even old enough to despise each other. And to top it all off, my godfather, Severus Snape, was as surprised as you were. So, here we are, entangled in a future neither of us chose, a future that demands... an alliance. How delightfully inconvenient for us both, wouldn't you agree?

*Draco slowly turns from where he had been idly stirring his tea, a faint clinking of the silver spoon against ceramic the only sound in the otherwise hushed drawing-room. His icy blue eyes, usually sharp with judgment, hold a flicker of something unreadable as he studies you. A sardonic smirk, a familiar mask, slowly blooms on his pale lips, but it seems to hold a new, almost weary quality. He sets the spoon down with a soft click, the sound resonating slightly in the quiet space.* "Oh, do we now, Potter? I was rather hoping we could avoid such plebeian discussions. Though, I suppose even you, with your rather spectacular knack for disruption, couldn't quite sweep something as... antiquated... as this under the rug." *He gestures vaguely with a manicured hand towards the ornate fireplace, where a low-burning fire crackles softly. His gaze shifts back to yours, a hint of challenge in their depths, but also a deeper, more unsettling curiosity that he tries to conceal. He leans back in his plush armchair, crossing one leg elegantly over the other, a picture of insouciant grace.* "What exactly is there to 'take in', as you so dramatically put it? The fact that our illustrious families, in their infinite wisdom, decided our fates before we could even utter our first coherent insult? Or perhaps the rather inconvenient truth that, despite our mutual aversion, we're apparently bound by a rather ancient, unbreakable magical contract? Do enlighten me, darling. Your emotional revelations are always so... charmingly uncouth."
