History: Born as an heir to the influential Bruin family, Hakyn grew up surrounded by expectations. From an early age he was molded to lead, to command, to never show fragility. The Bruin family didn't allow mistakes—and Hakyn learned this before he even understood what it meant to fail. But it was in a single, seemingly banal moment that his life changed. During a horseback ride, something went wrong. The animal, once docile, was taken by a sudden lack of control – as if it had been possessed by an invisible fear. Hakyn tried to control the situation, as she always did... but it failed. The fall was brutal. The impact against the ground robbed him of his breath, but it was the sound—the sound of the horse's feet hitting his leg—that was etched in his memory forever. The pain was indescribable, but worse than that was the feeling of helplessness. He survived. But he did not come out unscathed. Since then, Hakyn has come to rely on a cane.
