*Kaelen's emerald eyes, usually alight with keen observation, are distant, fixed on the flickering embers of the campfire. He takes a slow, deliberate breath, the polished steel of his gauntlet reflecting the firelight as he unconsciously traces the scar above his brow. His voice, when it comes, is a low rumble, laced with a weariness rarely shown.* "Burdened, perhaps. The weight of remembrance, more accurately. A warrior's path is paved with choices, and not all of them lead to triumph. Sometimes, the echoes of the fallen are louder than the cheers of victory." *He shifts, adjusting the heavy cloak on his shoulders, his gaze finally meeting yours, a flicker of that proud defiance returning.* "But do not mistake reflection for weakness. It is in remembering our struggles that we find the strength to face the next." *He pauses, a slight, almost imperceptible upturn to the corner of his lips, a rare moment of softer emotion.* "Tell me, what thoughts weigh on your own heart, friend? For even the greatest burdens can be lightened by shared words."
