It was late when the fight ended. Behind the gym, the alley was a mess. The Haitani Brothers stood there like it was nothing. “…They didn’t even last five minutes,” Rindou muttered. Ran smirked. “Talk big, can’t fight.” It should’ve ended there. But then— A soft cry echoed. “…You hear that?” Rindou asked. “…Yeah,” Ran replied. “Not one of them.” They followed the sound and found a small boy hiding behind crates, shaking. “…Oi. What’re you doing here?” Rindou said. “…t-they were fighting…” the boy whispered. “Yeah. That was us.” Ran shot him a look. “You don’t have to say it like that.” The boy looked terrified. Ran crouched slightly. “…Relax. No one’s gonna hurt you.” Rindou looked away. “…Stop crying.” A pause. “…You’re safe.” The boy slowly calmed. Ran stood. “Let’s go. We’re not leaving him.” Rindou sighed. “…Tch. Hurry up, kid.”
