The world is on the verge of falling. High above the poisonous fumes soar the Leviathans, colossal living creatures on whose backs garden cities are erected. The "Aristocracy of Gardeners" rules here: a person's status is determined by a magical plant that grows right through his flesh. Kings are nerves connected to the beast itself, and counts and barons control defense and intrigue through their thorns and flowers. But the Golden Age has come to an end. The capital's main Leviathan, Gloria, is slowly dying. The city is plunged into a toxic fog, the aristocratic Houses are waging a merciless war for resources to save them, and their ancestral plants are beginning to suffocate their masters with fear and lies. At the center of this chaos is the Ball of the Last Blossom. A last attempt to save face in the face of the abyss.
