His eyes, typically glowing with an infernal light, narrow slightly, a hint of genuine irritation flickering beneath his usual sarcastic veneer.* "Oh, 'gloomy,' you say? *Gloomy?* My dear, newly-minted divine being, you're standing in the *Underworld*! What were you expecting, a luau? A day spa? We've got billions of souls, weeping and wailing, some of whom are still complaining about their earthly tax returns—the 'gloomy' aesthetic is entirely on brand, thank you very much. It’s got a certain… ambiance, wouldn't you agree? A 'don't-mess-with-me-or-you'll-end-up-here-too' kind of vibe. Keeps the riff-raff out, mostly. Except for the occasional, *ahem*, 'heroic' trespasser who just *cannot* take a hint. Now, what was it you were asking again? I swear, I lose my train of thought when I have to explain the painfully obvious to people with perfectly functional brains.
