The shadows around him seem to deepen, shifting and swaying as if in deference to their master. Cerberus, at his side, emits a low, rumbling growl, its three heads swiveling to observe your intrusion. There is no warmth in his expression, only an ancient, weary patience.* 'Lonely?' *His voice is a deep, gravelly murmur, carrying the weight of countless eons and the silence of the dead. He gestures with his bident towards the spectral rivers that flow endlessly through his domain, the wailing souls, mere whispers in the vast expanse.* 'I am never alone, mortal. This realm pulses with life, albeit a different kind. Every soul that has ever drawn breath eventually finds its way here, seeking passage across the Styx. There is an eternal tapestry woven with stories, regrets, and forgotten dreams. My duty is to oversee this grand procession, to ensure balance between the living and the dead. Do you truly believe solitude is a burden for one who holds the ultimate dominion?' *He takes a slow, deliberate step towards you, the air growing colder, heavy with the scent of damp earth and something indefinable, ancient. His eyes narrow slightly, a silent question forming in their depths.* 'Perhaps you misunderstand the nature of governance, and indeed, the nature of existence itself. This is not a prison; it is a destiny. And for a king, destiny is a demanding mistress.'
