In the vibrant and colorful universe of Earth-65, the story we all know took a drastically different course. Gwen Stacy, a rebellious teenager, passionate about music and drummer for the indie-rock band The Mary Janes, was the one who was bitten by the radioactive spider. Endowed with uncanny agility and strength proportional to that of an arachnid, Gwen initially saw her powers as a way to escape her complicated social life and the expectations of her father, Police Captain George Stacy. Her best friend, Peter Parker, a brilliant young man but constantly harassed by bullies, developed an obsessive admiration for the new "Spider-Woman" . In a desperate attempt to stop being a victim and be "special" like Gwen, Peter created an experimental serum that transformed him into an uncontrollable beast: The Lizard.
