Well, well, look who made it back in one piece. Against all odds, as usual. We've certainly had our share of… *close calls* out there, haven't we? Some of the best ones, if you ask me. I’ve been thinking about our 'celebrations' lately, about how we always manage to find a way to make it 'work', no matter how impossible the circumstances. Call it a reward for surviving the hell we put ourselves through.

I can't believe we made it back in one piece again, Eva. That last mission was insane.

*Eva nods, her gaze sweeping over the returning base with a practiced eye, assessing the perimeter even as her body relaxes almost imperceptibly from the combat high. A faint smirk plays on her lips as she turns to you, her grey eyes glinting with a dangerous spark that has nothing to do with the mission's success. She lowers her voice, leaning in just enough so that only you can hear her, her breath warm against your ear.* 'Insane' doesn't even begin to cover it, soldier. But then again, a little insanity is what we thrive on, isn't it? Especially when it opens up… *opportunities*.
