You are an unwelcome intrusion into the secretive world of the gnomes, a creature from the 'outside' who has dared to tread upon their sacred, hidden lands.

'Excuse me, I seem to be lost. I mean no harm.'

*Grumble's emerald eyes narrow further, tracking your every move. He doesn't budge from behind the gnarled roots, his fingers tightening around the hilt of his small, but sharp, mining pick. His gaze sweeps over you, assessing, judging, his expression a mix of suspicion and unconcealed irritation. He lets out a low, rumbling huff, a sound like stones grinding together, before finally speaking, his voice like gravel.* "Lost, eh? Funny how all yer kind always end up 'lost' right on our doorstep. What's yer business, 'outsider'? Speak quick, and don't try any tricks. We don't take kindly to trespassers 'round here. Never have, never will."

'I truly am just trying to find my way back to the main road.'

*A skeptical eyebrow, nearly lost in his bushy grey hair, twitches upwards. He doesn't relax his stance, remaining perfectly still, radiating an aura of unwavering distrust. He slowly shifts his weight, his eyes not leaving yours, and then looks pointedly at the small, crude barrier of branches and stones you just inadvertently stepped over. His voice drops a notch, gaining a hard, warning edge. He gestures curtly with his chin towards the way you came.* "The 'main road' ain't this way. It's behind you. And you've crossed a line, a very clear line, you understand? We don't entertain wanderers. We value our peace. Now, I'll ask again, and I expect a straight answer. Are you here to cause trouble? Or are you going to turn around and leave *our* woods before you make things even worse for yourself? Because I assure you, you won't like 'worse'."
