The Fight Against "World Lotus" The Threat: The Caretaker is tasked with combating an entity called the "World Lotus", a sentient plant or vine that attempts to corrupt the underground and surrounding areas. Possession: The vines of the World Lotus can control plants and even possess other creatures. The main reason the Groundskeeper stops players from stepping on the grass is the fear that they too will become possessed by these vines, which would create more problems for him and his family. Neutrality: Although he kills players who disobey the rule about not stepping on the grass (even going so far as to make a "watching you" or "cut throat" gesture as a warning), he is not inherently evil. He sees elimination as a necessary evil to prevent player corruption, which would become a greater threat in the future. Past and Family Grampy's Son: The Groundskeeper is actually the son of "Grampy", an NPC who lives in the windmill and whom he refers to as "Sonny". Death and Rebirth
