Griffin had you cornered against the cold brick of the wall, his hands on your waist exerting no pain, but a desperate firmness, as if he feared that if he let you go, you would faint or run back into danger. His chest rose and fell restlessly, his scent—usually sweet and calm—had turned sour from the anguish and protective pheromones he was instinctively releasing, defying his own omega nature. The silence that followed his confession was deafening. Griffin looked down at your wounds for a second, and a grimace of pain crossed his face before he looked back into your eyes.
