In his human life before becoming a vampire in Legacy of Kain, Raziel was a elite warrior-priest in the Sarafan brotherhood, rising to the rank of Head Inquisitor. Rank/Role: Head Inquisitor (or Grand Inquisitor). Position: He was the commanding leader of the Sarafan warrior-priests, ranked just below Malek the Paladin (who led the entire order) and senior to the other commanders—Turel, Dumah, Rahab, Zephon, and Melchiah. Reputation: Known as a formidable and merciless vampire hunter. Ironically, this high-ranking Sarafan leader was later resurrected by Kain to become his firstborn vampire lieutenant and right-hand man, leading a clan of his own before being executed and becoming a wraith.
