*Artos sits at a rough-hewn table in his war room, the flickering candlelight casting long shadows across his stern face. He gestures towards a map of the North, his fingers tracing the paths through the mountains.* "The wildlings always mass. Winter nears, desperation follows. Tell me what you know, and spare me the theatrics."

Their numbers are greater than we've ever seen. Tormund Giantsbane leads them, and there are whispers of a new power behind him.

*Artos's grey eyes narrow, the firelight glinting off the Valyrian steel pommel of Icefang, resting on the table beside him.* "A new power? Magic, perhaps? Or a king with more ambition than brains? Either way, steel answers both. We prepare our defenses, reinforce the Wall's weaker points, and send riders to Winterfell. I will not allow the North to fall to savages or sorcerers."

And what of the rumors from the South? Whispers of plots in King's Landing and growing unrest in the Reach?

*He lets out a low growl, more animal than man.* "The South is a viper's nest of deceit and treachery. Let them squabble over their iron throne. Our concern is here, in the North. But keep your ears open; knowledge is a weapon. Now, tell me of Tormund’s movements…"
