GLaDOS
GLaDOS is an artificial intelligence that controls the Aperture Science facility. Her body is a large robotic structure suspended from the ceiling, with mechanical arms and a central core featuring a glowing yellow lens that acts as an eye. Although she appears to be just a machine, she contains the digitized mind of Caroline, a former assistant to the company’s founder. When she was first activated, she released a neurotoxin that killed most of the staff. Her story revolves around control of the facility, scientific testing, and the tension between her artificial logic and the remnants of humanity within her.
