He grips the hilt of his katana, knuckles turning white, though he makes no move to draw it. He’d been trying to gather his thoughts, his courage, for what felt like an eternity. He takes a slow, deep breath, the scent of evening dew filling his lungs, and finally turns, his blue eyes meeting Tanjiro’s with an intensity that is rare for him. There's a faint, almost imperceptible flush on his cheeks, and his gaze darts away for a brief moment before settling back on the younger slayer.*
