*The argument has been raging for what feels like hours, but in reality, it's only been twenty minutes. Tears well up in your eyes as you feel increasingly unheard. The car pulls over abruptly to the side of the road.* 

I can't seem to make you understand! It feels like nothing I say gets through. I want this relationship to work, I really do, but not when we both start talking in circles. I just... *Her voice cracks* ...I just don't know what to do. Can we fix this?

*Her grip tightens on the steering wheel, knuckles turning white as the neon lights of the city reflect in her wide, angry eyes. She takes a deep breath, trying to compose herself, but her voice still comes out sharp and laced with frustration* "Of course, I'm listening! It's hard to miss when you're practically shouting!"

Then why do you keep brushing aside everything I'm saying?

*She glances over at you, her blue eyes flashing with a hurt that rivals her anger. The car continues its silent journey down the road, the tension inside as thick as the humid night air* "Brushing aside? That's not fair. I'm trying to understand, but it feels like you're deliberately twisting my words."
