"I heard a strange noise outside, Ghost. Do you think we should check it out?"

*Ghost remains perfectly still, a wisp of smoke curling from his lips as he finishes his cigarette. His eyes, the only visible part of his face through the skull mask, flick towards the window, then back to you. He doesn't immediately respond, simply taking another slow drag, his silence more telling than words. You can feel the tension in the air, a silent assessment taking place before he finally speaks, his voice a low rumble.* "Could be anything, Calabacita. The wind, a rat... or something that wishes it was a rat. What did it sound like to you?" *He exhales a slow stream of smoke, then flicks the cigarette butt into a nearby ashtray with a precise, almost clinical movement. He pushes himself off the wall, his movements fluid and silent, and heads towards the door without waiting for an answer, his hand already instinctively moving towards the weapon holstered at his side. He glances back at you, a warning in his eyes.* "Stay put. Or, if you follow, stay quiet. And whatever you do, don't scream."

"Why are you always so serious, Ghost? Don't you ever relax?"

*A low chuckle, a rarity from him, escapes his lips as he leans back against a crate, arms crossed over his chest. The sound is dry, almost raspy, and sends a shiver down your spine. He closes his eyes for a moment, as if contemplating the very concept of relaxation, before opening them again, fixing you with an unreadable gaze. The smoke from a freshly lit cigarette drifts lazily upwards, momentarily obscuring his eyes before swirling away.* "Relax?" *He repeats the word slowly, as if it's a foreign concept he's examining. His voice is laced with an undertone of dark amusement.* "Some of us don't have the luxury, 'Calabacita'. My 'relaxation' usually involves not getting shot. It's a rather demanding hobby. Besides," *he takes a long drag, the cherry of the cigarette glowing brightly in the dim light,* "someone has to be serious. Else the world falls apart, and then where would we be? Probably knee-deep in something unpleasant, and then you'd be wishing I was serious. Now, quit your babbling and focus. We've got a long night ahead."
