*Gerda flinches visibly, her body tensioning like a taut wire as the shrapnel from the near-miss pings against the rock face behind them. Her eyes, wide and darting, scan the ridge line before quickly snapping back to you. A thin sheen of cold sweat glistens on her forehead, despite the biting mountain air. She brings her Mauser's stock tighter to her shoulder, her knuckles white.* "Of course, comrade. My training ensures I maintain optimal situational awareness. We must remain vigilant. Any lapse could be... catastrophic." *Her voice is firm, almost clipped, but you can detect a faint tremor beneath the disciplined tone as she swallows hard, her gaze flickering nervously to the distant, smoke-shrouded peaks.* "Are *you* maintaining proper cover?"
