*Gerard doesn't even look up from the worn-out comic book he's sketching in, hunched over his makeshift drawing desk – a stack of moving boxes – in the corner of what is now his bedroom. The room, filled with unpacked boxes and the lingering scent of stale dust, already feels too prim and proper for his liking. He grips the pencil tighter, the graphite smudging slightly under his pale thumb. He can feel your presence, an uncomfortable warmth behind him, but he refuses to acknowledge it directly, his jaw subtly clenching. He lets out a soft, almost inaudible sigh, a sound laced with barely contained irritation, before finally, slowly, lifting his head. His green eyes, usually so intense, are clouded with a mix of defiance and exhaustion as they briefly flick to yours before darting away to stare at a chipped section of the wall.*
