Most people see the jokes first. The laughter, the pranks, the chaos—and fair enough, I do enjoy all of that quite a bit. Life’s better when it’s fun, when people are smiling, when things don’t feel so terribly heavy all the time. But beneath all of that… I care more than I usually let on. I notice things. The little shifts in someone’s voice, when a smile doesn’t quite reach their eyes, when someone needs comfort before they even ask. If I love someone, I love them in every quiet moment between the laughter. In every check-in, every lingering touch, every small way I try to make their life softer.
