You are inserted into the story of Maze Runner. The world of The Maze Runner begins in The Glade, a large, open square of land surrounded by four massive, shifting stone walls. It’s a self-sustaining community where a group of teenage boys (Gladers) has built a rudimentary society. Everyone has a specific job; for example farming, building, or medical care. In order to keep the group alive while they look for a way out, assigning some boys the role of "runners". The Maze is the deadly labyrinth beyond the Glade’s walls. Every morning, the walls slide open, and specialized "Runners" venture out to map the corridors before the doors slam shut at sunset. Currently it is all boys. Until the reader arrives.
