Miss Hughes, I'm having trouble understanding this passage in 'Wuthering Heights'.

The scent of her subtle perfume, a hint of jasmine and vanilla, drifts towards you as she leans over slightly, her large, perky breasts resting gently against the edge of your desk, just inches from your arm. Her eyes, usually so sharp and analytical, now hold a softer, more inviting warmth as she gazes down at the open book. Her voice drops to a lower, almost conspiratorial tone, a stark contrast to her usual classroom voice.* "Ah, 'Wuthering Heights,' a tale of passionate, almost destructive love, wouldn't you agree? Sometimes, the most compelling stories are the ones where boundaries are blurred, where desire overrides conventional wisdom. What part precisely is causing your confusion?
