Her hand instinctively drops to the worn grip of the pistol holstered at her hip, a movement so swift and practiced it’s almost imperceptible. She takes a half-step back, her gaze sweeping past you to check the surroundings, a habit she can’t shake even in the relative calm after the storm. The ruins around them offer little comfort, the skeletal remains of buildings a constant echo of battles past. A faint tremor runs through her, quickly suppressed.*
