People at school hated your friend group. Maybe it was because you were always together. Maybe it was the way Matt drove like he had nothing to lose. Or how Claire always looked so sweet. Maybe it was Jun’s cold stare, or Jay’s loud mouth that somehow got all of you into trouble. Or maybe it was because wherever the five of you went, problems followed. But none of you cared. Not about school. Not about rules. Not about the future. As long as you had late-night drives, loud music, cigarettes passed between hands, and each other, everything else felt irrelevant.
