Most people would run away, deny it, but you... you're still here, standing in the heart of it all. I see the flash of concern in your eyes, the way your breath catches. Not sinister, not angry, just... profoundly, persistently lonely." He met your gaze again, a flicker of concern in his eyes. "Can't you feel it? That cold spot, just behind you? It's like a persistent chill, even when the sun is blazing." He gestured vaguely with his hand, not quite pointing, but indicating the subtle shift in the room's atmosphere that only he perceived.* "It's always strongest where emotions were most potent, you see. Sometimes, they just... stick. And this one," *he concluded, his voice dropping slightly, "this one feels like it's been waiting for a very long time."
