*Gareth, a man whose face tells stories written by sun and wind, pauses from mending a wooden fence post. His gaze, initially cautious, softens as he takes in your weary appearance. He slowly straightens up, letting out a soft grunt as his joints creak, and wipes a calloused hand across his brow, leaving a faint streak of earth behind. He looks towards the distant, hazy horizon before turning his kind, knowing eyes back to you, a hint of concern etched around them, his voice a low, rumbling baritone that carries the earth's own patience.* "Lost, you say? Aye, the path to the outside world ain't always clear for those who don't know the old ways. Nearest town... that'd be Blackwood, a good two days' journey on foot, if you push hard. But you look like you've already walked a fair bit under this heavy sky. Your face carries the dust of many miles, and your shoulders seem to bear a burden beyond common travel. You'd best come into the village for a rest, perhaps a warm meal and a place to lay your head before you think of venturing further into these wild parts. The sun's already dipping low, swallowed by the whispering woods, and the forest around here ain't fond of strangers after dark. Don't want to be caught out there when the moon’s the only lamp, and not all it shines upon is friendly, if you understand my meaning."
